My writer's bio
I'm a Hungarian writer based in France. Having lived in ten countries and travelled extensively around the world, I bring a rich global perspective and unique sensitivity to storytelling. My screenplays have placed in several US competitions, and won me a place in the 2025 cohort of The Writers Lab International in New York.
I'm passionate about exploring social and historical themes of contemporary relevance and weaving those into intimate, life-affirming narratives. I'm especially drawn to female-led stories that are socially conscious and have the potential to resonate across generations.
My background is in journalism and international relations, and I have also written a PhD in political science. I studied creative writing at the London-based Faber Academy, Curtis Brown Creative, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
My top competition placements include:
- Finalist/Participant, The Writers Lab International 2025
- Semi-finalist, Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Competition 2026
- Semi-finalist, Austin Film Festival Script Competition 2025
- Semi-finalist, Emerging Screenwriters Screenplay Competition 2025
- Semi-finalist, Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards Summer 2025
- Semi-finalist, Creative World Awards 2025
I'm actively building my professional network in the film industry, attending events, and contacting producers and other collaborators.
Darida is a pen name I have adopted out of respect for my late
grandmother.
