My writer's bio
I'm a Hungarian writer based in France. Having lived in ten countries and travelled extensively around the world, I bring a rich global perspective and unique sensitivity to storytelling. My screenplays have placed in several US competitions, made the Coverfly Red List, and won me a place in the 2025 cohort of The Writers Lab in New York.
I'm passionate about exploring social and historical themes of contemporary relevance and weaving those into intimate, life-affirming narratives. I'm especially drawn to female-led stories that are socially conscious and have the potential to resonate across generations.
My background is in journalism and international relations, and I also have a PhD (in political science) in my back pocket. I studied creative writing at the London-based Faber Academy, Curtis Brown Creative, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
I started entering competitions in late 2024. My top placements include:
- Finalist/Participant, The Writers Lab International 2025
- Semi-finalist, 2025 Austin Film Festival Script Competition
- Semi-finalist, Emerging Screenwriters Screenplay Competition 2025
- Semi-finalist, Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards Summer 2025
- Semi-finalist, Creative World Awards 2025
I'm currently developing treatments for both feature films and television series, and seeking representation.
Darida is a pen name I have adopted out of respect for my late
grandmother.
